Product Description Heather's Tummy TamersTM Peppermint Oil Capsules ~ Best for IBS pain, bloating & gas * 90 enteric coated capsules per bottle * Active ingredients: Peppermint oil, ginger oil, fennel oil * Formulated specifically for IBS * 50% more enteric coating than industry standard for other brands! Take one capsule at a time on an EMPTY STOMACH with just enough cool liquid to swallow easily. For IBS pain, spasms, bloating, gas. Calms and relaxes the GI tract. Peppermint oil capsules, as part of the diet, have been clinically proven to help IBS symptoms, even in children. A recent survey of clinical trials declared peppermint oil capsules the "drug of first choice" for IBS patients with constipation or diarrhea, to alleviate general symptoms, and to improve quality of life. *Peppermint, as part of the diet, helps relieve abdominal pain, diarrhea, and urgency from IBS. Menthol and methyl salicylate, the main active ingredients of peppermint, have calming effects on the stomach and intestinal tract. Although peppermint is such a powerful smooth muscle relaxant that it can trigger GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) or heartburn in people who are susceptible, Heather's Tummy TamersTM Peppermint Oil Caps are enteric coated so they do not dissolve in the stomach. Instead, they pass through the digestive tract intact until they reach the intestines. However, individual tolerance levels for peppermint vary greatly among people who are prone to he

Just received first order July 28, 2010 TJ Anderson Haven't had enough time to try the product, but I have an issue with the packaging. The bottle was in good shape, but there was a barcode label stuck right across the directions for use! Don't know if this was Amazon or Heather's, but when I tried to peel it off, it took off the directions too. NOT at all helpful on a product with very specific directions!
Work well April 28, 2010 Rachel These peppermint capsules seem to calm down my stomach and I would recommend them. But make sure to only take 1 at a time. Once I took 2 and I had that worst heartburn! I usually take one and I'm fine. Other than that, they are worth a try and better than a prescription that has a dozen side effects.
Peppermint oil capsules January 12, 2010 E. Browning (United States) I have no idea if these actually help, but they don't cause any problems (I'm taking them as a natural bactericide for an intestinal bacterial overgrowth). I have no problem swallowing them (they're quite small), and only one time did taking one cause me to burp (just once, with a faint hint of peppermint, which really tickled me).
Good product, misleading image December 11, 2009 the professor (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although the image shows TWO bottles, the fine print says (and they ship) just one!
I'm sad that this doesn't work. February 3, 2009 Sandra E. Besler (Arizona) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have tried Beano and other products to help stop the "expenditure of gas" from my body. Nothing works. Then I heard about the peppermint oil pills and, again, got my hopes up. Well, these pills do not work either. I am so dissappointed. I was so sure they would work, I even purchased two bottles. I guess I'll keep looking for something to help. (One thing is that I wish the pills wouldn't have to be taken on a completely empty stomach, and that they must be taken about an hour prior to eating.)
