2 out of 5 stars No Pain...No Lymph Drain?   April 23, 2010

Just got this brush yesterday. Holy Ow, is this brush stiff. I'm on day 14 of a chemical peel on my upper back and I'm crazy with itchy, dry, flaking skin, so the brush worked fantastic on that, but on the parts that didn't get the peel this brush just hurt like the devils domain! You definitely have to apply almost no pressure and be sure to use the edge of the bristles in a almost not touching light sweeping motion. It works semi-OK for my arms, legs, butt, hips and stomach but forget the back unless you have someone helping you. I just can't get the right angle on my back to use the 'edge' of the bristles (my arms don't bend that way). I'll keep using it hoping my skin gets used to it like some reviews say, but I'll keep looking for a slightly softer bristled brush. On a positive note-the brush is a two-piece so you can use the brush head with or without the handle attached. The handle fits snug into a groove in the back of the head and I didn't experience any separation while using it.

The other reviewers are correct: this is a stiff, rough brush. But that's its appeal. It stimulates the skin and feels wonderful. I'm sure it's a little harsh for some people, but a couple of my family members who have extremely sensitive skin adore this brush.

Beware though: once you brush one part of your body, you'll find you need to brush another bit and then this bit and then that bit and then, oh!, just another bit. It is such a delicious feeling each part of your body calls out for its turn. We're buying a pile of them in case the manufacturer ever stops making them.

I have psoriasis and use a stiff brush when showering to brush over the psoriasis scales. I bought one of these a year ago and I'm coming back to get two more. They are great in the shower for this particular application.
